'They need to add boy mom to the DSM-5': 'Proud boy mom' laments being 'forced' to be a mother and not a partner to her son

Obviously, an important part of being a parent is loving your kids, but how do people manage to find so many ways of doing this that are blatantly not normal? This is never clearer than with the 'boy mom' phenomenon, in which women construct whole identities and truly weird relationship dynamics around the fact that they have a son.

Social media has only intensified their desire to prove Sigmund Freud right, as shown in a disturbing TikTok slideshow one mom posted about her relationship with her son. Claiming that she was "born to be your lover" but "forced to be your mother", it doesn't take a genius to hear alarm bells ringing. To nobody's surprise, the wider internet was not impressed in the slightest with this misguided public display of affection. The therapy bills for this kind of treatment are going to wind up being astronomical, that is for sure.
